We are very excited to host the Derby St business trick or treat. Business will set up in our parking lot for everyone to walk through and trick or treat. I will post a list of all the businesses that are going to be there as soon as we have confirmation from a few we're waiting on. We can't wait to see everyone in their costumes having a great time!

For safety, we ask that everyone who is trick or treating park on the road and walk through. If you or someone with you has an issue where walking to or through the parking lot would be a safety issue or too difficult you can pull up by the lot entrance and honk or park and call 309-353-5480 and we will do what we can to assist you.

If you're a business that hasn't heard from us and would like to set up, we would love to hear from you. Send us a message. There's no fee or requirements.

A few of us have had situations to deal with that life tends to throw at people from time to time. It caused us to be extremely busy trying to pick up the slack and help people the best we can so our guys can take care of themselves and their families, which is the most important. We appreciate everyone's understanding and patience while we worked through everything.

We will be closed on Monday the 7th for labor day. We will reopen on Tuesday the 8th.

You may see a couple of us in and out of the shop doing some maintenance in the shop and catching up on some vehicles but we will be closed for the day. We won't have a full crew and need that time to catch up and hopefully get some rest.

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend and their labor day. It'll be a great day for everyone to spend time with friends and family, have a cookout, do some fishing, or whatever helps you relax and rest.

As everyone knows, Illinois has some if the worse roads and it takes a toll on a vehicle. One of the most common complaints with vehicles is noise while driving. Click, tick, rattle, knock, thud. Could happen when turning, braking, accelerating, hitting bumps or potholes. Its best to try to see if there's a pattern to it or if it happens under a specific driving condition. This will help your mechanic make sure they are able to diagnose it quickly and accurately. If you're hearing those noises, give us a call and we'll keep your vehicle riding as smooth and quiet as Illinois roads will allow.

So many vehicles made in the last 15 years or so have had issues with timing chains. Before that it wasn't something people ever thought about. But, now with cheap plastic and chains that wear easily they can become a huge issue. It can cause a vehicle to have hesitations, poor fuel economy, lack of power, stalling , and sometimes it won't start. And on most of them if you let it go too long it can cause internal damage to the engine requiring replacement and a heftier bill. If you have a timing chain issue or suspect you do schedule an appointment with us to check it out before it gets too costly.

You hit your brake pedal and all of a sudden it doesn't feel right. Maybe it takes way too much effort or maybe it sinks to the floor. There are many parts of the brake system and they all have to work together to make one of the most important systems function properly. The brakes are under a lot of stress and take a lot of heat. They need to ease you into a stop or be able to immediately keep you and others out of harms way. If you feel something that isn't quite right, get ahold of us and let us check it out. People tend to forget that their 4wd or awd vehicles have diffential and transfer case oils. If they are neglected too long it can cause major, costly failures. Keep an eye on them for leaks and maintenance schedules to make sure it doesn't cost you and your vehicle is operational when you need it.

When things get busy, we bring in some extra help. Unfortunately, they tend to act like they run the place and get pretty bossy. Luckily, we have managed to minimize how many things they hit when pulling vehicles out.

Is your exhaust loud? Does the exhaust rattle? Maybe it just fell off. Exhaust leaks aren't just annoying, they can cause emissions codes and possibly some issues with fuel economy or the way the engine runs. If it leaks under the cabin of the car it could leak exhaust gas into the cabin. If that happens its a risk to you and your passenger's health. Whether its just annoying or its unsafe we can take care of it.

Cars can make so many different noises and sometimes even seem to echo through the body causing them to be difficult to locate or identify. One common noise is a growl that gets louder as you drive faster. It may get quieter while turning one way and louder turning the opposite way. That's usually a wheel bearing/hub assembly. Sometimes they can last a little while but sometimes they're unsafe. Its best to have them checked out just to make sure.
