This job was far from the typical “polish and protect” you see on the newer vehicles I often post — this one was a full-on revival.
After spending nearly its entire life outdoors in the Mississippi sun, the truck’s paint was heavily neglected. We were dealing with dead oxidized clear coat, heavy staining, swirls, rock chips, and deep scratches throughout the bed and tailgate that needed touch-up and careful sanding to level. At 21 years old, the clear coat was extremely thin in places, so we approached this restoration with precision and caution.
The hood was in the early stages of clear coat failure, so rather than applying a ceramic coating, we chose a 10-year self-healing PPF to give it maximum protection and extend its life without a repaint.
Projects like this remind us why we love what we do — bringing neglected paint back from the dead.
