🔧 CAR CARE TIP: Don’t Ignore Your Coolant! 🔧
Your engine creates a LOT of heat, and your cooling system is responsible for keeping that heat under control.
Coolant doesn’t just help prevent overheating—it also contains additives that help protect the inside of your engine, radiator, heater core, water pump, and other cooling-system components from corrosion.
As coolant ages, those protective additives can break down. That’s why simply looking in the reservoir and seeing that it’s “full” doesn’t necessarily mean everything is good.
⚠️ Signs your cooling system may need attention: • Engine temperature running higher than normal
• Coolant level dropping
• Sweet coolant smell
• Visible leaks
• Heater not working properly
• Discolored or contaminated coolant
Preventative maintenance is almost always cheaper than repairing an overheated engine.

⛽ STOP RUNNING YOUR TANK ON EMPTY! Your fuel pump will thank you. 🔧
We’ve replaced THREE fuel pumps just today — and you know what all three vehicles had in common?
👉 They were almost completely out of gas.
Now, I’ll admit… that makes my job a little easier when it’s time to drop the tank 😂 — but regularly driving around on E can be hard on your fuel pump.
Your fuel pump sits inside the fuel tank on most modern vehicles, and the gasoline surrounding it helps absorb heat and keep the pump cool. When you constantly run the tank extremely low, the pump has less fuel around it to help control its temperature.
Running very low can also increase the chance of the pump picking up air during turns, hills, hard braking, or acceleration, which means the pump isn't getting the steady supply of fuel it was designed for.
And while the fuel filter/strainer is there to protect the system, keeping a healthy amount of fuel in the tank helps ensure the pump stays submerged and supplied.
🔧 Our recommendation: Try not to make a habit of going below 1/4 tank.
Will hitting E once automatically kill your fuel pump? No. But repeatedly running extremely low can contribute to extra heat and wear — and replacing a fuel pump costs a whole lot more than stopping for gas a little sooner!
Sometimes the simplest maintenance habits can save you from a much bigger repair later.
