We are sorry for everyone's loss from the fire in Patten at Outback Garage and Hathaway's Apartments. Also, we are thankful everyone was able to escape the fire.

Our thoughts & prayers are with Outback Garage & the residents of Hathaway Apartments this morning as both buildings were lost in a fire in the early hours.

Thank you to all the brave Volunteer Firefighters

Friday morning update.
Joe was transferred to EMMC last night and spent the night in the ER, this morning he was transferred into room 311. Pain is the issue at the moment. The Doc’s are leaning towards not doing surgery on the broken pelvis and back, still a waiting game at this point. We appreciate all your warm wishes and prayers. Will keep you all updated as we know more.

Update.
The doctor just came in and said that Joe broke his back and his pelvis and bruised his lungs. So we are waiting to get a transport to bangor so he can get surgery. It’s going to be a long recovery. Thank you for all the prayers but keep them going!!

Please lift dad up in prayers today he is headed to the hospital from a bad accident with the tractor!! We will let you know more when we know more. But they are thinking maybe back hip or pelvis is broke.

Yesterday a little girl came to the shop with her grandmother. Hazel ran out to meet her with full tilt excitement. The girl started crying in fear and sat on the ground. Hazel tried to make herself as small and non-threatening as possible. She belly crawled to the girl, tried to get in her lap. I felt sad for the girl being afraid and for Hazel with her effort to offer of friendship being turned away. This normally rambunctious dog felt the girl's fear. She did all in her power to say she was not a threat. I am amazed at the way dogs can be in touch with human emotions, process the situation, and gently try to calm fears. Bravo Hazel! You did well.

This afternoon we were in town getting groceries. Hazel decided, with some encouragement from a couple kids, to jump out the car window and join the party at Katahdin Brew Works. She was having a grand old time when Ben went to round her up.

Update - Murry has a new home.

This is Murry, he needs a loving home. Being part Maine C**n, he does not do so well with other cats. Once adjusted he does well with dogs. Murry has been an inside only cat. He is people friendly. We are looking for a home without other cats, with dogs that are a bit more laid back and don't try to play rough with him. Also without young children that may want to consider him a toy. He has been in a mostly adult home. Children that would have respect for him would be a requirement. (no offense intended).

If anyone with US Cellular is having cell phone issues when 5G comes up on their phone, contact customer support. Told me that the response to fixing the issue is based on the number of complaints. I guess it has something to do with the towers.
