❓When Leasing, what do you pay for “interest” and what is a money factor?

✅To convert the money factor into a digestible number like the interest or annual percentage rate (APR) you'll pay, multiply it by 2,400.

🙌🏻For example, if the money factor in your lease agreement is 0.0010, when you multiply this figure by 2,400 … you'll get an APR of 2.4%.

Cons of Buying instead of Leasing:

🤨No big down payment. Specifically, if your credit is lower, you may want to put down a larger down payment of around 20% if you want better odds of getting approved for loan financing.
That would be $7,500 on a $30,000 car. Leasing would allow you to keep at least some of that up-front cash.

🥲Higher car payment… Your vehicle lease payments will typically be lower than new car payments for the vehicle.

🚨Risk of being upside down. Depending on the length of the loan, depreciation, and the way interest gets calculated, you may owe more than the vehicle is worth until the last year or so of the loan. By that time, the car warranty may well have expired, too.
Not only do you have to continue making payments on a 5- or 6-year-old car, but you may have to pay out of pocket for any repairs.
