I would love to believe this without immediately becoming emotionally attached to the possibility, but after enough experience with life, I have learned to keep one eyebrow raised even when something sounds promising. Still, the idea of waking up without that familiar feeling of dread, having enough time to actually live outside of work, and being somewhere that does not drain every ounce of patience I have left sounds ridiculously good. I can almost picture myself reading an email with an offer and trying very hard not to scream before checking the details seventeen times just to make sure I am not hallucinating. For now, I’m cautiously hopeful, quietly ready, and pretending I’m not already mentally planning what I’d do with that first better paycheck. ✨
