Alright guys!!! Late night pick up last night for this beautiful Red Yamaha R6 (different than the one we did the exhaust on, but they have matching bikes)
and his cousin recently purchased this stellar Honda CBR 1000!
While the main Rascal is off on a mobile call changing out a thermostat on a pretty blue and silver Suzuki GSXR who we've been working with a lot lately working all the kinks out that bike... I thought I'd share what's going down this week!
So let's get started in on the 04 Honda CBR
Customer just purchased this gem, and wants it gone through which were more than happy to do for him!
Right off the bat with out tearing into it, starting off with a basic tune up! Full on synthetic oil change new plugs, new oil and air filters.
A new tail light to put on that rear end just to make sure everybody can see him! Of course we're going to go through the wiring harness to see if anything needs to be replaced! Can't have faulty wires!
Go through the clutch basket and cables just to make sure the clutch will hold up to all that power!
Going to have to change those front and rear brakes their pretty warn down, and don't have much life left in them. Slap a new chain on since we'll be down that way anyways. The customer requested the white fairings be changed to black so well go ahead and take care of that too since it's not a big paint job and easy enough. Well go through the coolant lines to make sure there's no leaks. The stator needs to be replaced because currently the poor thing won't crank over so that's gotta be fixed! The customer also said the rear brake pedal assembly is kicked a bit too far inward and makes it awkward for braking so we're going to check in to that as well! Not to mention there's an exhaust wrap all the way up the exhaust and in our experience that wrap usually means someone's hiding some holes or they had an ugly exhaust weld their covering up...so that's going to have to come off so we can see what's going on and make sure there's no major leaks.
We do offer an in-house package deal for a new purchase inspection and basic tune up.
Let's say you just bought a new bike and you want it gone through completely we can do that!
$325 gets you a basic tune (new plugs, oil, filter and air filter) plus a comprehensive inspection of the bike complete with a report of the findings.
In this inspection we break down the bike and go through the following.
We check the exhaust from the motor to the tip sure there are no leaks, holes, gaps or cracks. Check the clutch basket and cables, radiator hoses and vacuum lines for leaks. Check to make sure all lights are working properly and check the wiring harness to make sure no faulty wires or gremlins are present. We'll check the shocks, brakes and rotors, chains and sprockets, front forks seals, wheels and tires, pegs, frame sliders, and fairings, any damage noted will be documented with pictures and a report that you get to keep. Wether you bring the bike back to us for the repairs or take your report elsewhere for the repairs.
We will also prepare a quote for the repairs along with the report!
Anyways back to this R6 ...she had a bit of a spill and needs a new cover on the motor, the customer wants the exhaust cut down and cleaned up, of course a tune up, a new chain and he's got a bit of a coolant leak we gotta go find that too! And of course a few new frame sliders because let's be honest when the R6 took that tumble those sliders saved those plastic fairings! So if you don't have sliders on your bike we highly recommend you get some because they save you a fairing kit !
The ninja 10rr is almost back together just a few fairings left to get her back going! But been busy working on everybody else so she's been on the back burner.
The black Yamaha vmax went home today.
Still have the Valkyrie with a hydrolocked motor...which these bikes are known for... So looks like we may be pulling the motor out of this one 😞 which we really didn't want to have to do, but it is what it is.
The ZX-6R is back to running flawless and is currently out on the call with the rascal himself...always stealing his wife's bike 🤣
The zx900 is still a work in progress but oh boy is she getting there. Still having a bit of carb trouble in high range but she's running better still a few more tweaks to be done.
So that's what's going on for the next few days!
I'm sure we have room for one to two more bikes so give us a call!
