Mid Ohio Valley Cars and Coffee

Mid Ohio Valley Cars and Coffee This is the page for the Cars and Coffee events in the MOV. If you love cars and you enjoy talking cars, then this is the event for you!

- All vehicles are welcome; but have respect for our meets and take pride in your vehicle. Try to bring a clean vehicle to the meets. If you must come covered in dirt, with a work in progress, or with a non show-worthy vehicle consider parking away from the other vehicles. If your car doesn't turn any heads on the road, it likely won't get much attention at our meets. We are geared towards modern

exotic and performance vehicles but enjoy seeing anything unique.

- Do not do any burnouts or break any traffic laws in the immediate vicinity of the meet. Self explanatory; We want to keep everyone safe and prefer not to upset the police or local businesses and ruin a good thing. This is a friendly, mature group of people and we prefer to keep it that way.

- Filming or gathering at exits is prohibited. Gathering to film cars exiting the meet is prohibited. This encourages reckless driving and could provoke an accident involving a crowd of pedestrians.

- Park in designated event areas and please respect featured vehicle parking. If there is a featured vehicle of the day, we may politely ask you to park elsewhere. This is just so that we can get the best possible event pictures.

- Do not start a conversation with "How much did you pay for this car?", "What do you do for a living?", or "Can I sit in it?". You can easily Google what a car costs and some people aren't comfortable letting everyone know what they do. Please attempt to introduce yourself and get to know someone before asking personal questions.

- Do not bring folding chairs. These are a waste of space, dangerous in some areas, and promote anti-social behavior. If you must bring a seat for medical or other reasons, please use it in the grassy area.

- Be respectful of other vehicles. Do not touch or sit in other vehicles without the owner's permission.

- Clean up after yourself. Please pick up trash if you see any and politely remind people not to leave anything lying around.

- No solicitation
Do not advertise or hand out flyers or business cards without prior approval.

"The call is coming from inside the building."

I keep meaning to get back on here and state that I'm going to wear my egg now. Thanks Zuck. In the list of people trying to break into my account, I did not have "Instagram's 3rd party partners or more likely yet another data leak" on my list. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂

I'm still sticking by my statement of keep an eye on your neighborhood creeps though. I hope to have another real update for you guys soon. Hopefully I can stick to that this time.

Instagram users received emails last week about purported password reset attempts. At the same time, Instagram data appeared on the dark web.

Time for another of my rare posts. Heads up for the following here as well, someone's been trying to break into the MOV C&C Instagram. Also, if you have Instagram and didn't know there was an account there too, there's some old pictures there from past events.

This could be random, but whoever it is has been persistent and the timing of this is odd given how SWVR SCCA's domain was bought out and someone's been messing with their old site on about the same timeline. I'm not convinced they aren't connected. If you guys notice weird posts from my account... first off, you know how infrequent I am, so that's your first tip off, but be vigilant. I'm doing my best to keep this stuff locked down, but don't let thieves outsmart you if I fail.

Talk more soon hopefully... Hopefully with me and not some weirdo... Other weirdo. Not the one posting this. You get what I mean. 😂

Just for the sake of being abundantly clear, the first thing I want to point out is that this is not my event.

I saw this a couple days ago and wanted to provide an option for you all while I'm still working on getting an event set up. This one's up in Marietta. I looked at Google Maps, and there's a detailing shop at that intersection that I'm assuming probably has something to do with this event.

I think there's plenty of room in the area for multiple cars & coffee events. I hope this one does well also. I also had someone ask me a question about a site they were working on in Belpre a couple weeks ago. My next site to chase after is in Parkersburg. If we're all lucky, maybe we all end up with separate weekends and there'll almost always be somewhere to check out this season!

I haven't been able to put any time into that project I had hinted at... last year now? I feel like the proverbial dog chasing the carrot. Every time I think I'm close to getting to it, something new comes up. I've been into a lot of projects this winter. I have time allotted to it in the near future. Hopefully I get it taken care of, can share it with you guys, and finally get to pursuing the next site again! If it works out like I imagine, it'll make for plenty to do in one place.

Whoa. I kinda went a whole year with no update. Oops. Uh... more updates coming. Talk soon, yeah? 😅

Long post, sorry I'm not in a TLDR mood this morning. 🤷‍♂️

I've been meaning to update you all for a little while now. Site 2 was really on board with holding some events and we had one last thing to iron out with checking on some insurance stuff. After their talk with their insurance, I think that kind of complicated things a bit and site 2 seems unlikely now. This kind of seems to be the same problem we run into with a lot of places I've reached out to in the past and why it's so important to be respectful at the places that do host us. Even the stupid stuff that happens in bigger cities affects our smaller events here. As the saying goes, It takes one guy...

I've already spoken with a site 3, I was back in to that site a few days ago to get an update, and I didn't get to catch the guy I needed to talk to. I have a last ditch site 4 in mind if I need it, so I'm far from giving up. Just short on time dealing with other priorities trying to organize everything. I'll make it happen give me time.

I've also had a couple people make suggestions on where to try. I'm going to end up getting less picky with my sites if we keep getting turned away. I have to work within the bounds of having events with 50+ cars we need space for, ideally somewhere paved, and I really want to have coffee within short walking distance if at all possible. Better coffee obviously being a better option. Mobile coffee is an option also, but it has to make sense for them where they sell enough coffee to cover not only the cost of who's working the stand, but transporting it here also, and in the summer months, that's tough. In the few years I've been putting this together and as many times as I've got to do the site search, there's a lot of moving parts to bring together for an event to work out. I'm certainly always open for ideas though.

I'm fairly certain we have an event site secured. The owner of the business is super on board. There's one more little outstanding item to get figured out, but I'm confident MOVC&C will return for 2023. There's even coffee right next door. Not great coffee, but it'll work while I work on an idea to address that too. I want to get a couple events going first and make sure we still have people to show up to them.

Site 2 fell through if anyone's wondering. I'm still grateful for anyone willing to host us for the duration that they have.

Quick post... It's been too quiet around here. Thanks for the messages asking about when we were getting things started again. The fire's been lit, changes are coming. Keep your eyes here!

Hey everyone! A lot has been going on in the world as of late, and as you may have guessed by now (sorry!), this has postponed some of our events for this year. It's an ever changing landscape, so we remain hopeful that we can get back to it later this year, but at the current time, we're going to continue to hold off until the situation further improves. I did a short video update on YouTube with what's I've personally been into, and did some addressing Cars & Coffee in it. You guys can skip to the 1:23 mark for the update on that. I'll link it here, but if you could do me a favor, and please share it with your fellow Cars & Coffee goers, because Facebook is going to surpress this post for having a YouTube link in it. Thank you all, and we hope to see you at an event in the near future!

Just a quick update video on where I've been, what the outlook for cars and coffee for this year is looking like, what to expect, and some of the stuff comin...
