First time my husband and I visited Kentucky and we chose a wonderful campground to stay at. The staff is very accommodating and attentive. The sites are spacious in a peaceful surrounding. Loved the serenity of the fishing pond too. Would definitely stay there again!

🎵 THE OUTLAWS WHO ROCKED THE JUNCTION: A Country Music History Lesson 🎵

Did you know that one of the wildest chapters in country music history passed right through a hidden gem in the hills of McCreary County, Kentucky? 🚂🌵

Long before they were global icons, Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings were musical rebels. In the mid-1970s, they got tired of Nashville’s strict corporate rules and kicked down the doors of the establishment, sparking the legendary Outlaw Country movement. They wanted grit, they wanted creative control, and they took that raw energy straight to the fans on the road.

That road eventually led both legends to the famous Tombstone Junction amusement park!

Imagine pulling up to the park to see a real steam locomotive, mock cowboy gunfights, and then walking over to the outdoor amphitheater to see the biggest stars in the world.

🎸 When Waylon's tour bus rolled in, it parked right on the dusty, Western-style movie set streets. Fans went wild as he brought that heavy, driving beat and his leather-covered Fender Telecaster to the Cumberland hills.

🤠 Willie Nelson also took that rustic stage, strumming his famous battered guitar, "Trigger." Seeing a massive superstar playing an intimate, open-air show surrounded by wooden saloon facades is something local fans still talk about today.

While they played Tombstone Junction during separate solo stops, their rebel brotherhood eventually gave us iconic duets like "Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys" and led to the ultimate supergroup, The Highwaymen, alongside Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson.

🔥 The Next Chapter of the Junction...Tombstone Junction sadly burned down in 1991, but the story doesn't end there. Today, the sacred grounds have been transformed into a massive, sprawling 242-acre historical site and RV park—but with a twist!

To preserve the peace, quiet, and incredible history of the land, owners built only 26 exclusive RV spots!

Even cooler? You can rent a golf cart on-site and cruise along a 2- mile private golf cart and hiking trail to explore the exact footprint where the once-famous theme park used to stand. The old saloons and train tracks might be gone, but the memories are as real as life. You can practically still hear Willie's guitar echoing through the trees. 🌲🇺🇸

🌙✨ Moonbow Week is Almost Here! ✨🌙

July 27–31 is one of the best opportunities to witness the famous Moonbow at Cumberland Falls. Weather permitting, this rare nighttime rainbow appears when the light of the full moon shines through the mist of the falls, creating one of the world’s rarest regularly occurring natural phenomena. Cumberland Falls is one of the few places on Earth where a Moonbow can be seen on a regular basis.

If you’ve never experienced one, this is the perfect time to plan a visit.

“Excellent stay at Cumberland Falls RV Resort! We arrived late, and the owner still met us after hours to check us in and help us find our site.

The park was easy to access, quiet, and very clean. Our site had a fire ring, picnic table, and Adirondack chairs. The private bathrooms were spotless and felt like a residential bathroom, which my wife especially appreciated.

The welcome gift bag was a thoughtful touch and a pleasant surprise after a long drive. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this campground.

Cumberland falls is just a stone throw away, and a must see.

Historic site . Welcome to the Cumberland Falls RV Resort. Formerly known as the Tombstone Junction.

In 1976 a brash young disc jockey with bleach blonde hair down past his shoulders showed up at Tombstone Junction in McCreary County, KY to interview Little Jimmy Dickens. It was the second interview ever in this disc jockey's early career. He had grown up on the Beatles, the Beach Boys, & the Rolling Stones. Thanks to Waylon Jennings, he had recently converted to country music (disco had a lot to do with his conversion.) Radio Station WEQO (1220 on your AM dial) had assigned this young hippy the job of interviewing Tater. The intervew, the show, and the day went great. Jimmy could not have been any more respectful. He treated the young know-it-all like he was Ralph Emory. He was a gracious, kind, & witty man. In fact, he was so kind he became one of the young man's heroes. I should know. I was that young, inexperienced, greener than a gourd disc jockey! One of the things I remember from the interview was someone took a picture of us standing side by side. Me with my long bleach blonde hair being 6'4" & Mr. Dickens in his blue Nudie suit & his ten gallon hat being 4'11". I don't know where that picture got to but I wish I still had it. Little Jimmy Dickens was a gentleman, a kind and gentle person and a great entertainer. RIP Mr. Dickens!! ~ Mike Cowan
