Air-cooled, Water Cooled, Bug or Bus, Old or New.. Just needs to be a VW

COVID-19 got the best of the 2020 Great Cross-Country Race as well as the rest of 2020. So, let’s try it again in 2021. Shall we?

First for insurance purpose I and calling it a Rally not a Race.

There are two options on the table:
1. Redo the rally as Gail planned the routes: Myrtle Beach to Effingham, Illinois and Albuquerque, New Mexico to Effingham. If this is the chosen option, the dates will be the week before the Volkswagen Funfest in Effingham (Dates TBA)
2. Or, plan a new route and destination around a date that works for the most participants.
3. Or, produce something new and doable.
4. I would like to have a volunteer working group to bounce ideas around.

One Idea is a Route 66 Experience – maybe not the entire 2500 miles or maybe yes. But starting in Illinois and heading west. Possibly working dates around a VW show at our TBA destination.

Whatever we decide to do or not we need your input. Either route will require a lot of planning.

Gail Love and I need you input and assistance in preparing for 2021. Here is what I need from you:
1. Are you interested in participating in 2021?
2. Can you be willing to help organize and plan a 2021 Rally?
3. Help share ideas with us.
4. Pass it forward to VW clubs, associations and all VW enthusiast.
