I just wanted to give a shout out to Rich Goodwin and his wife.
When it's raining, I expect to get wet when changing tires, it's just part of the job. Am I happy when that happens? Definitely not! If you ask any of my customers that are around when I'm working in the rain, I'm not a happy person.
Tonight, Rich and his wife went out of their way to make sure their garage was available to work in, and set up a pop up tent for me to work under while working from my truck. To top it off, they always bring me and my dog water. Obviously I don't expect this from any of my customers, but it was much appreciated in tonight's downpour. Thank you guys!

Hey, there was actually a sportbike in yesterday's group of motorcycles! And a pair of Harley Lowrider ST's.
Normally I do far more sport bikes than cruisers, but this year it's been the opposite. I've done far more cruisers than sportbikes.

Is that a wide enough rear tire on this Harley Rocker? 😄

This is a pet peeve of mine. My personal belief is that anti seize has no place on a motorcycle axle. It doesn't protect against corrosion from moisture very well, it's sticky, and when it dries out it turns into a hard paste that makes your axle next to impossible to remove. I had to beat on this axle with a 3 pound hammer to remove it. Once removed, it was obvious the anti seize had dried out and did nothing to protect the axle from rust, and just about glued the axle in place.
I wiped the anti seize off, and applied a coating of standard disc brake wheel bearing grease on the axle. It won't dry out, and will protect the axle from rust and corrosion. Next time I remove the wheel, I'll be able to push the axle out with my hand.
