How many gallons of fuel do you bring to a 4-5 day bracket race?

What if you didn't need to haul fuel at all? Norwalk racers, today is the LAST day to pre-order Fuel Factory for next week!

This is one of the better explanations of a flat plane crankshaft vs the traditional cross plane we have known forever:

Weekend recap!!!

For several years I’ve been telling anyone who will listen that the Wied brothers are incredible: they’ll be household names in our sport. Tyler definitely had his talent on display last weekend behind the wheel of the Moser Engineering Vega.

The highlight of our weekend was his Pro victory yesterday at World Wide Technology Raceway, after a great final round with Tommy Barbero. In total, Tyler’s weekend was far more impressive than the single victory. Between Beacon Dragway Friday night & St Louis, he entered 6 categories (3 box & 3 No Box). In addition to the win, he logged three semi final finishes, and one quarterfinal loss. His “worst” showing was a 5th round exit in Super Pro Saturday night with 9 cars remaining. The kid is special-it’s fun to watch.

And that’s good, because someone had to carry the flag for our camp!

Jack, Jess, and myself each went 0-for the weekend… Jack’s car continues to give me fits-he had no chance. Jessica made nice runs, just had two “coin flip” finish line decisions & chose wrong both times.

Our Top Dragster project continues to make strides; we’ve got a real competitive race car (& fast-I had a hard time slowing it down to run “Super Quick”)-but the driver was not so good this week! In This Is Bracket Racing Jr., we try to simplify our complex game. I tell the kids all the time, “either get there first by a little… or get there last by a lot.” Well, this weekend I decided to get there last by a little twice-and I can confirm it’s not a great strategy!

The only Bogacki that did anything of note this week was Gary; he advanced to the semi-final round Saturday night (which was actually 2:30 Sunday morning).

Super short turnaround this week as Jess & Tyler will set sail for Beech Bend Raceway Park tomorrow. They’ll run the divisional, and then the boys and I will join them Friday after school for the Sports Nationals!

And this folks is how the seed gets planted! Bets on he ends up a racer himself! https://www.facebook.com/share/p/185Aow...

There was a little kid at the Southeast Gassers' G-Force Racing Transmissions Nationals at Farmington Dragway this past Friday night who was absolutely living his best life.

He had his Hot Wheels cars in hand, holding it up like he was staging right alongside the cars on the track. The second a SEGA car launched, he was off running full speed down the fence line, trying to keep up with it.

I watched him do it over and over again, and honestly, it reminded me why this sport means so much to me, and why I know it means so much to so many of you.

The Southeast Gassers are there to put on a show, and these guys and gals deliver every single time. But seeing that little boy running his heart out along the fence line was a different kind of proof. He wasn’t just watching a race. He was experiencing it.

Maybe someday, that kid will be the one behind the wheel.

That’s the next generation of our sport. That’s what we need more of kids coming to the track, hearing the engines, feeling the excitement and falling in love with this crazy sport just like so many of us did.

A quote from my friends at Lone Star Throwdown Show really says it all:

“SOMEWHERE AROUND THIS SHOW, THERE IS A LITTLE KID THAT WANTS TO BE JUST LIKE YOU SOMEDAY. YOU OWE IT TO THEM TO BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE.”
