FIELD TRIP DAY at Motorhead Kollege. 🎓😂

We’re shutting the shop down at 1 PM today and taking the crew on a little educational field trip… or maybe it’s just something that sounded fun and we decided to call it educational.

Where are we going? We’re not telling.
But there may be an Easter egg hiding in the picture. 👀

We may go live from the field trip…
or we may get distracted, forget completely, and come back tomorrow acting like nothing happened.

Either way, class is officially dismissed at 1. 😂

Okay… apparently our apprentice is kind of a big deal. 😂

There’s a reason we call Audrey “Hollywood” around the shop.

If she looks familiar, you may have seen her with Riley’s Rebuilds. Their Meta commercial featuring the Riley’s Rebuilds crew has racked up 156 MILLION views across platforms in 3 weeks.

Yeah, 156 MILLION and going up

Huge props to Audrey and the entire Riley’s Rebuilds team for what they’ve built and for putting young people — especially young women in automotive — in front of an audience that big.

We’re just lucky Hollywood spends some of her time at Motorhead turning wrenches with us.

And somehow, despite all that fame, we’ve discovered she can still be kept reasonably fueled with unlimited cans of Mountain Dew and a steady supply of terrible corny jokes. 😂

156 million views and she still has to put up with us.

We’re proud of you, Hollywood — and congratulations to the whole Riley’s Rebuilds crew. 👏

Well… it happened.

Flor got asked by the. Shake Station for a highly specialized repair job:

Their gumball machine.

That’s right. Not a Camaro.
Not a carburetor.
Not an LS swap.
A 25-cent, sugar-dispensing mechanical crisis.

So naturally, we’re considering a new division:
Motorhead Gumball Repair.

We’re currently developing Stage 2 upgrades including a bigger globe, high-flow quarter slot, billet candy chute, and possibly an LS3 swap if Francesca leaves us unsupervised long enough.

At this point, if it has moving parts, makes noise or refuses to work properly…

bring it to Motorhead.

So what do you think?

Do we add GUMBALL REPAIR to the sign, or do we stop Flor before somebody drops off a claw machine?

Sometimes “finished” isn’t quite finished.

Our 1968 442 is back from paint, and once we got it under the shop lights and really started looking it over, we found so many areas of poor quality that we talked it over with the owner and the car will need to be stripped to bare metal and painted again.

The painter came highly recommended to the owner, and this isn’t about pointing fingers — it’s about getting the car right.

The owner demands perfection-

Because a 442 this nice deserves the details to be right too.

How many issues did you spot before the end?

10/09/2026

And then there’s our 1968 Oldsmobile 442.

We’ve spent the last couple of weeks playing paint detective after finally getting the car back following approximately 14 months away.

The painter had come highly recommended to the owner by others, so he had high expectations for how the car would turn out. Unfortunately, once the car came back and we had the opportunity to finally inspect it, the quality just wasn’t where it needed to be.

Our customer wants perfection on this car, and after going through everything carefully, we made the difficult decision to reject the paint work.

At this point, the right way to move forward is to strip the car back down and have it repainted properly.

When you hire us to build your dream car, you’re not just hiring us to turn wrenches. You’re hiring us to help manage the project, take some of the burden off your shoulders, watch the details, and stand beside you when something doesn’t go the way it should.

We’ll be taking the 442 to another painter and starting the process of getting this beautiful Oldsmobile the finish it deserves.

More updates coming soon.

FIELD TRIP DAY AT MOTORHEAD!

Yesterday, Flor and Audrey got out of the shop for a little field trip to CAT Sandblasting & Powder Coating while we dropped off a few pieces for our 1968 Camaro project.

Owner Brian was nice enough to give them a tour of his unbelievable facility and walk them through the powder-coating process. It’s one thing to install freshly powder-coated parts, but it’s another to understand the preparation, what can and can’t be coated, and how much goes into getting the finish right.

He showed them hundreds of colors, textures, and finishes, along with some of the work CAT does for some very well-known companies.

We believe the more our team understands about every part of the restoration process, the better we can do our jobs back at Motorhead.

A huge thank-you to Brian for taking the time to show Flor and Audrey around. We’re lucky to have a company like CAT so close to the shop.

Audrey did spend a little too much time looking at the color samples, though. Pretty sure she was trying to figure out if Brian could powder coat her trademark boots.

We had a visit today from Motoring Florida, thank you for stopping by and checking out the new shop!

Even though the weather had us feeling a little blue today, things definitely didn’t slow down inside Motorhead. 🔧

The 1975 Corvette is back from paint after having a few minor repairs handled. We gave her a bath, a buff, and some final love before sending her on her way looking sharp.

The 1954 Chevy Panel Truck needed a little welding and fabrication around the differential — along with fixing about 70 years’ worth of “ehhh… that’ll work” repairs. 😂 We’re pretty sure a few previous owners considered a welder, a hammer, and optimism a complete fabrication department.

Rain or shine, the work keeps moving.

More updates coming soon. 🤘

Motorhead escaped the shop this weekend and headed to FL2K to see what happens when people decide there’s apparently such a thing as “not enough horsepower.” 🏁

We’re incredibly lucky to have Bradenton Motorsports Park right here in our own backyard, so of course we had to come out and support our hometown track.

We also had another reason to be there — our very own Flor. When he’s not turning wrenches at Motorhead, he’s helping turn up the horsepower with his family’s race team. Apparently working around fast cars all week just isn’t enough for him.

And Luca, our foreign exchange student, got the full Florida experience: sunshine, humidity, drag racing, ridiculous horsepower… and he even got to meet Mr. Sam.

We’re not sure what Luca is going to tell everyone back home about America after spending time with us, but we’re pretty sure it’s going to involve loud exhaust and questionable amounts of horsepower. 😂

Great weekend, great racing, and an awesome time supporting our local motorsports community.

Who else made it out to FL2K? Drop your pictures in the comments — especially if you caught something ridiculously fast.

Another week in the books at Motorhead! 🔧

A little paint detective work, classics coming and going, plenty of wrenching under the hood and underneath them, a quick cruise around the shop, and of course… somebody had to crack open a differential. 😂

Hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend! If you make it out to a car show, take some pictures and POST THEM RIGHT HERE IN THE COMMENTS! 👇 We want to see what you find out there.
