We've been seeing more and more of the 10 speed transmissions all with the same failures. The CDF drum sleeve moves in the drum blocking passages and can cause damage to the sealing ring. Updated drums should always be installed during overhaul even if it hasn't failed YET. You can see how the bottom sealing ring has a taper to it when the others are square

We always get asked about putting additives into a transmission. Will it stop a transmission from slipping? Will it stop a leak? Perhaps temporarily, but here's a perfect example of what some of these additives WILL do. Here's a picture of a servo for the reverse band in a dodge truck. The effect additives have is to swell seals. It over sizes the deals and allows them to roll out of position and get damaged. Every rubber component in this transmission suffered damage.

Here's a fun project we've had the pleasure of working on. 1952 Willys M38A1 with a dually conversion. This one is getting the presidential treatment. Chassis got sand blasted and epoxy primer. Every piece is being gone through. Freshened up the axles, going through transmission and transfer case and adding an overdrive unit, motor is at the machine shop. Body is on for mock up and layout now. Then will be torn back down for final touches. Don't beleive the TV, this is NOT a 30 minute job.

Just finished up a 68RFE from an 18 Ram 2500 with a Cummins diesel. Fairly stout transmissions up to a point. But we can make them better! This one is for occasional hauling with no tuning. It came in with no overdrive which is a very common complaint. To address that some things we did were install a billet channel plate (which is beautiful) and a transgo shift kit, it was also fitted with a heavy duty billet cover torque converter.

Currently seeking a motivated individual to join the Elite Transmissions team. Must be able to work independently. Job includes but not limited to clean removal and installation of transmission and transaxle assemblies. Qualified applicants will be required to have a basic understanding of automotive systems such as brakes, suspension, and engine operation. This is a full time position M-F with optional overtime available.

We specialize in transmissions and differentials but work on everything. If you're tired of the same old grind and want to do something different this is the place for you.
