My rant for today....sponsorship on local/regional race teams. Too often teams and or drivers land product or monetary sponsorships and screw it up. Racing is expensive and not very proffitable on a local or regional level and every dollar spent must count. With the economy the way it is, sponsors are few and far between. Add to the mix that potential sponsors have been burned in the past by teams that didn't honor the sponsorship agreements and that makes it even harder. These sponsors rarely ask for alot in return for their investment, and honestly...they probably do not get a lot of return as far as what advertising that is done on the actual racecar. They do it as a favor to someone, for the love of the sport or possibly a tax write off...not because local racing is going to take their bussiness to the next level. Once a team or racer burns a bridge, doesn't do what they promised or shows no appreciation to these sponsors...its done. Whether it's an oil, tire, fuel, shock, or a sum of cash sponsor...treat these people with respect and do right by them guys. This is an expensive game to play out of the hip pocket. People in this sport have a good memory and a bad reputation on this end of the deal is just as damaging as the reputation of a dirty driver or a cheat.

I don't even know where to start! First I will thank our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the blessings bestowed upon me daily. My family, supportive whether I was running up front or bringing up the rear. At times i swear i prolly woulda hung up the helmet had my family not been so into this sport. My friends, putting in countless hours in the shop and at the track. Loyalty runs deep among this group,I feel lucky to be surrounded by such dedicated people. My sponsors, regardless of the investment each and every one has been instramental in ,my success.Return on these investments to advertise on these cars can be minimal...please support the bussinesses you folks see on our racecars. My fellow competitors, these guys never sleep. One of my favorite things about dirt racing is the push to get better and better or get left behind. The car owners I have driven for over the years,I appreciate the oppertunities to wheel some great racecars. The fans, these are the folks that pay their hard earned money to watch us do what we love. Many other options available for these folks to spend their money on but they choose to come out and brave the cold, heat, rain dust and whatever else is thrown at them. The promotors and track owners, these guys and gals take a beating. Hours weekly in track prep and a sizable investment to put these shows together. With all that said, this season held some uncertainty for me. I still have my old sportsman car,and a new one partially built. I kinda got behind between my regular job, work in the shop and some unexpected expenses that we all know seems to appear just when ya think ya got control and a plan. To date I have only raced once this season, for the Cheeks family in their open wheel mod. In the last couple of weeks, things have really came together for myself and my crew. I will be driving for Live Action Motorsports, competing in the super late model division. We will be testing and learning more about this beast locally at first with plans to do some traveling this summer. Again,I thank each and every person that has supported my racing endeavors through the years..ya'll are the best! Wish us luck and follow us here and on the Live Action Motorsports page. God Bless!
