What exactly does RV winterization do — and why does it matter?

If water is left in your RV’s system when freezing temperatures hit, it can lead to expensive damage. Winterization is a simple way to help protect your RV before colder weather arrives.

Right now at Open Roads RV Center, you can save $30 on winterization when you book by 9/18:
Towables: $99
Motorized RVs: $129
Antifreeze included

And remember: your appointment does not have to happen by 9/18 — it just needs to be booked by then to get the discount.

Call or message us to get on the schedule!

We don’t blame you! Give us a call to schedule your winterization for later date by September 18 and login that $30 discount. Enjoy that fall weather well you can and when you’re ready, we will be too.

Consider this your sign.

Don’t put the camper away just because summer is winding down.

Cooler mornings are coming.
Campfires are about to feel REALLY good.
The lakes are still beautiful.
And some of the best camping weather of the year is right around the corner.

Around here, we’re lucky enough to have Kentucky Lake, Lake Barkley and Land Between the Lakes practically in our backyard.

You don’t need a week off.
You don’t need to drive across the country.

Sometimes you just need a free weekend and somewhere to park the camper.

You only get so many fall weekends. Don’t waste them.

BIG NEWS! 𝐔.𝐒. 𝟔𝟖 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭. 𝟒 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝟐𝟒 𝐄𝐱𝐢𝐭 𝟏𝟔 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐜𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲

𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬 (𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁. 𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲) – U.S. 68 will reopen to traffic over Interstate 24 Exit 16 in McCracken County at 8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4. This includes all four ramps entering and exiting I-24 at this interchange.

What to know about District 1’s first roundabout on a state highway:

▪️The speed limit is 35 mph, with a 25 mph advisory speed in the roundabout. There is a 45-mph transition zone on U.S. 68 in advance.

▪️The Exit 16 interchange closed on June 22, and construction was completed in about two and a half months – well ahead of the original four-month estimate.

▪️The overall project is not yet completed. Paving is scheduled near the intersection of U.S. 68 and KY 284 on Tuesday, Sept. 8, and is expected to last approximately four days. Pavement striping and other finishing work will follow. Anticipate various traffic shifts and expect some delays.

▪️When navigating a multi-lane roundabout, motorists should follow pavement arrows directing them into the appropriate lane. Drivers entering the roundabout should yield to vehicles already in the roundabout, which have the right of way.

Can you picture this one at your campsite this fall?

This week’s featured RV is the 2023 Highland Ridge Open Range 26RLS, and if you’re one of those people who thinks camping gets BETTER once the temperatures start dropping, this one deserves a look.

A spacious rear living area with that huge back window. Plenty of room to cook, eat and settle in after a day outside. A private bedroom up front. And with a 30,000 BTU furnace plus an enclosed, insulated and heated underbelly, you don’t have to pack up your camping season just because summer is ending.
