It won't idle... Well, no it won't. Stop using ethanol fuel in your outboards or other small motors.

Getting a lot of "won't idle" motors in lately. Sometimes it's carburetor issues and sometimes it's a weak spark. Fixed this one today. It wouldn't idle at all when it came in.

Yep. I fix these issues almost daily. Generally if a motor is getting water in only the bottom cylinder it's from the oil injection jug or a blown head gasket. This one was from the oil jug mounted on the motor. Deleted now.

Don't wait to change your impeller water pump.
It doesn't take long to blow a head gasket, then you're mad and blow yours.
I only charge 150 to put in new Impeller kits with new gaskets. If I have to pull the power head to make major repairs, trust me... It's not 150.

Prices for boat repairs.

Over the last 4 years only 3 boats have crossed the 500 dollar mark for repair. 2 of those needed fiberglass repair along with motor work. 1 needed all new electronics.
The average cost of a fixed motor issue leaving here is 150-200 bucks.
That's carburetor kits, new fuel pump/lines. Most common issues. Impeller water pump change for 70+ HP is 150.

Fuel delivery, water circulation and spark are the main issues we see. Over 100 boats serviced in 2025. Price for repair...
