I went to diagnose a misfire to find this! Cylinder filled with oil from a failed seal. New valve cover gasket and plug seals, new speak plugs along with a transmission flush to help with the notorious 2500rpm bogging.

Customer requested I diagnosed cylinder 3 & 4 misfire along with the heavy oil leak.

I first started with cleaning the engine bay (top and bottom) so I can get a clear visual of where oil may be coming out of and because I like working on clean cars 😅

I then verified that cylinder 3 & 4 were coming up on my scammer (they were). I pulled the coilpacks and instantly saw that both those cylinders were filled with oil. After cleaning the cylinders and swapping the plugs the CEL went away.

After diagnosing the CEL, I noticed a pool of oil pouring out of the oil pan on the transmission side. I looked closely and noticed the gasket was torn from improper installation. We tried an aftermarket pan and had the same problem even with a new gasket and Honda bond. We then decided that oem pan would be the safest bet and sure enough it was.

An update on Shaun MacHaffie Turbo EK: mocked up the intercooler and fans after installing the bash bar. Oem bash bar wouldn't work with the setup but this one will give us plenty of room to work with.

I also installed the Chase Bay's power steering delete kit. (10/10 would not recommend doing with the power steering rack already installed)

I had the pleasure of doing a ceramic coat on a good friend's FL5 Karl Stenger

We started with a wash/degrease, clay bar, cut/polish to remove the minor swirls and lastly protected using Gyeon ceramic coat. The depth of the red and the high gloss makes it look like it just came out the paint booth.

A lot of people have been wanting an update so here it goes!

Photo dump of some of the work I've done and some issues I've found along the way of building Shaun MacHaffie built JDM Type R swapped EK.

- New steering rack (awaiting Chase Bays power steering delete kit)
- New Hybrid Racing fuel pump along with PTFE fuel lines
- AEM fuel rail and regulator with FIC 1000cc injectors
- Go-Autoworks Performance & Fabrication A/C Turbo Manifold paired with Precision Turbo & Engine 5558
- HMO Type R L*D Transmission (sad to let go of this holy grail but my shop car will be AWD)
- Alderspeed Twin disk and flywheel
- DC5Creation A/C relocation kit
- suspension maintenence and upgrades to include spherical bushings for the em1 trailing arms, rear disk conversion, braided fuel lines on all 4s, new ball joints, etc etc
-fixed a lot of wiring (pictured is some of the mess I found)

So much more has been done. Countless hours, early mornings and late nights. I do this for the love of the game.
