We are thrilled to announce that we have our 3rd member in the 500k mile club! And two of those vehicles are still on the road.

This 2014 accord has been coming to us since the owner purchased it with a little over 100k miles. This was a replacement for his 2006 accord that was unfortunately totaled with "only" 460k. He was devastated that he missed the half million mark, and he was committed to getting there with this accord. It retains the original engine and transmission and has had no major engine repairs.

So what's the secret to automotive old age? Unsurprisingly it's similar to your physical health. Be proactive with on time service, fix things immediately when they break, and take good care of the car. Driving like you're taking grandma to church is a key for good fuel economy and little wear and tear on the car, and watch for those pot holes!

Hey everyone! Now that the weather is getting colder, some people have turned on their heat and found out that it's not blowing warm. We've seen issues with clogged heater cores, and usually flushing them out fixes the problem. However, if flushing the heater core doesn't work, then the only fix is to remove everything in the interior to gain access to it. As you can imagine, this is not a cheap repair. Enjoy!

Here's another estimate from a dealer. The top line item is to replace the coolant crossover pipe on a 2014 CRV, which we see frequently because they rust out. The dealer wants $1800. We typically offer this job along with a new starter since it's easily accessible when we do the job and most of these cars are over 10yrs/150k. Our price to replace the crossover pipe and the starter is $1150. Without the starter, the job is $670.

So remember whenever you get an estimate from the dealer to check with us first. On average we're 20%-50% cheaper. Or in this case (comparing apples to apples) we're 62% cheaper (and still using an OEM part)!

We love Honda's J series V6, and have now helped guide two of them to over 500,000 miles. They are extremely well built engines, and although they require regular timing belt replacement, their smoothness and reliability makes up for it. Over the years the J series has gained multiple variants that had some growing pains but overall the engine family is the cornerstone of Honda reliability.

If it ain't broke, you know the rest. Honda has been leaning on this 3.0 VTEC for nearly three decades, and we can't say we blame them.

Today marks an awesome milestone for one of your very loyal customers. He has been bringing his 2005 acura TL to us for over 15 years and today he crossed 500,000 miles!

I believe he is the second owner and bought it with a little over 100k on it. He has a long daily commute but is meticulous with his maintenance and general care.

Over the years we have done more than 6 timing belt replacements and more than 50 oil changes! And the best part is that the engine and transmission are all original too!

Take care of your vehicle, and it will take care of you.

Honda and Acura make great products but they aren't perfect. Because we specialize, we see many of the common issues with these vehicles, and this stop-start issue is one we've battled for years. It's nice to see that Honda is offering a warranty extension on the issue.

The Honda Passport, Ridgeline, Pilot are all being looked into, as well as the Acura TLX and MDX.

Hi Everyone! Long time no update! Time to give you a treat.

We've recently been seeing some issues with the 1.5L Turbo motors found in 2017+ CRV's & Accords. Although this isn't a widespread issue, we have found certain engines that have suffered a cylinder head gasket failure.

As you might imagine, changing out the head gasket on a modern turbocharged engine is very complicated and time consuming. This is what 15 hours of meticulous labor looks like. And for the record we were still 30% cheaper than the dealer. Enjoy.

Apparently it's RDX day today! The RDX has been a great little SUV over the years. The turbocharged engine provides plenty of zip and has been reliable.
