Upper Hand Detailing and Ceramics: Giving Vehicles a Fresh Start
When you step into Upper Hand Detailing and Ceramics, you immediately sense the pride that owner Jacob Buscemi puts into every project. What started as a detailing shop has grown into a complete automotive restyling center. Jacob said, “If it has to do with protecting, improving, or transforming your vehicle, we can help you do it the right way.”
There is a strong synergy inside the shop between Upper Hand and Premium Auto Design, owned by Jason Souter. Jason's business focuses on aftermarket styling solutions and wrap installations, and operating out of the same space allows both companies to combine skills and elevate the results for customers. The collaboration gives clients access to a wider range of custom options, all under one roof.
Together they offer full interior and exterior detailing, ceramic coatings, paint protection film, vinyl wraps, window tint, and a wide range of accessories. Floor mats, mud flaps, tonneau covers, running boards, wheels, tires, and more are all part of the daily work. Window tint improves comfort by blocking UV rays and reducing heat, while wraps can deliver a full-color change or subtle style updates. The shop installs both personal and commercial wraps and partners with Orion Signs & Graphics for printed designs.
During the visit, the team was completing two wrap projects. One truck was originally bright red and was being transformed into a khaki green. On his own vehicle, Jason demonstrated how he layers vinyl to create custom textures and graphics. Everything is cut and applied carefully for a clean, professional finish.
Although the shop does not handle paint or bodywork, Upper Hand maintains strong partnerships. They refer collision repairs to the shop next door and work with Diesel Tech for wheel and tire installations. Hopkins handles tires and also general maintenance when customers need it. Many of these businesses are also clients, creating a supportive circle of referrals. Jacob said, “Local businesses work best when we help each other. It comes back around every single time.”
Giving back is a core value for Jacob. The shop offers a Heroes Discount for nurses, doctors, first responders, active military, veterans, and teachers. He donates to school events, football programs, golf outings, and fundraisers. Coming from a family of educators, supporting students and teachers is personal. His mother has spent more than three decades in education, and both his sister and wife are teachers.
Upper Hand has grown quickly, yet Jacob still meets people who drive by daily without knowing the range of services he offers. With new signage planned and strong word of mouth, he hopes more residents will stop in and see what they can do. The Chamber will partner with Upper Hand on a Coffee Connect in March to help raise awareness among local businesses about the shop’s unique skill set and the breadth of services available right in Oxford.
Jacob stays busy between the shop and raising his young family, but he remains committed to serving Oxford and the surrounding communities. Whether someone wants a refreshing detail or a complete transformation, Upper Hand is ready to help every vehicle look and perform its best.
Jacob and Jason would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Stay safe tonight!
