Here's a tip for you amateur beat the system renters. Others have been before you and the system reconizes your intent. This is how it goes up in this part of the country.
You price a rental from Boston to RKD for one day because you just need to get up here for a week or so vacation or visit. Looks a little pricey. How much for a week? That's a lot less per day, so I'll book the car for a week, return it in a day and get the daily price. Hold on there, Einstein. Your daily rate was for seven or ten or whatever number of days.. It's called a period rate. It's on the contract you signed but didn't read. When you return the car after one day, you pay way more than you would have if you had just been honest. A lot more.
Just be honest. Communicate. If you don't care for the price, make other arrangements, but don't think you're the first person to ever try this.
