2020 Gm Duramax 10L1000. It appears the PR valve and Low limit feed valve hung in the valve body. Unfortunately this unit was absolutely roasted. Valve body issues have plagued these trans. It’s extremely common.

This can be mostly avoided via parts by Sonnax, DNJ, Ratiotek to name a few. Talk to your shop or transmission builder about upgraded the valve body in your 2020-On 10L1000.

These are 1-2-3 from our hotflusher. A can or straight air cannot remove this debris from the cooler. All of that metal and garbage returns to the Transmission. Ask your tech about properly flushing the cooler after a transmission failure! We hope everyone has a safe and great weekend!

I have never been prouder to add a piece of equipment to our arsenal. This is something I have wanted for a long time. This unit is very specific to transmission COOLERS. Not the transmission. It uses hot transmission fluid under pressure along with air to reverse flow back and forth until the filter is clean. If you have a transmission rebuilt or replaced due to any failure this is a MUST!! .

Finally getting caught up. I don’t think there are enough hrs in the day. But we got this EEPROM data read for a customer wanting a SRS module crash data cleared and did a nice 48RE transmission for a Dodge diesel. A lot of Sonnax and Goerand brothers parts. It should do the job nicely.

Just now getting a chance to update this thing. This is the end of the line for the 10r80. Buttoned up installed, New Valve Body strategy wrote into the pcm and test drove.

Onto the 48RE next. I will be posting progress on that build aswell. I greatly enjoy building these and trying my best to make them better than they were!

C,D,F done, E clutch setup done, primary pump rebuilt, stop start pump rebuilt, All came out great. I kinda pinballed around today but will have this unit hopefully installed and road tested Monday or Tuesday. On to the next project. I’m one wore out dad from this week 😩! I couldn’t do it without my team!!

Looks like Christmas time for this 10R80!! Improved CDF drum and housing, vastly improved planet assembly with a machined thrust bushing, Brand new OE Ford valve body, torque converter, GPZ Friction pack, new bonded piston kit and all associated seals.
This will sure be a nice unit that should outlive the truck! I’m happy to be a part of it. 😊
