Windy Hollow Dragway Hal Miller built and opened the Owensboro Dragstrip in 1958 on a farm on Veatch Road in Owensboro.

In 1971, he moved the dragstrip to the Windy Hollow location to be next to the Windy Hollow Speedway that opened in 1970.

OWENSBORO, KY โ€” Windy Hollow Dragway hosted IHRA Bracket Racing action on Saturday, October 3rd at the 1/8 mile drag strip.

In the Super Pro Class, Anthony Roy took home the win, with Noah Popham as runner up.

In the Pro Class, Michael Grass took home the win in his red Ford Mustang with Owensboroโ€™s Shawn Woods as runner-up.

In the Junior Dragsters, Philpotโ€™s Billy Johnson took home the winning honors with Islandโ€™s Houston Freels finishing runner-up.

Eastviewโ€™s Diane Ratliff was the winner in Sportsman, followed by Eric Tingley.

Hendersonโ€™s Jim Elrod was the winner in the Saturday night Trophy Class.

Windy Hollow Dragway will return to action on Friday, October 16th and Saturday, October 17th for the season finale.
