Last month, over 800 CBA technicians and service team members came together in Houston for our annual Mastering the Difference conference. This event is one of our favorites of the year, uniting the frontline teams that serve you and your vehicle in the shops every day.

Attendees heard from keynote speaker Jon Acuff, teamed up to pack meals for Feed the Hunger during our service project, learned from industry leaders and technicial instructors, were recognized during our plated Awards Dinner, competed for incredible raffle prizes and so much more. 🔧🎉

When it comes to loving our neighbor, our first step is loving our teams and equipping them with the tools and skills needed to extend that love to their individual communities. MTD is designed to do just that, and we're already looking forward to doing it again next year!

It's our favorite day of the year! National Service Day is our annual, dedicated day of service to our communities, where we come together as a brand to serve those in need of a helping hand. 🫶🏻

Today teams across the country have worked with community partners to provide free oil changes and some other safety repairs to single moms, widows, and other neighbors in need.

It's our small way of giving back to those who make what we do every day possible, while glorifying God the entire way. 🚙

Recently, after receiving a vehicle to donate, CBA Ocotillo gave their time, talent and expertise to ensure it was safe and reliable on the road. Once it was ready, they began praying about who should receive it. As they sought God’s direction, one organization kept coming to mind: Teen Challenge Home of Hope.

When the team reached out to the home’s director, they discovered one of the ministry’s staff members, Jewells, had been faithfully praying for reliable transportation. A graduate of Home of Hope herself, Jewells chose to remain after completing the program, first serving as an intern before joining the staff. Today, she dedicates her life to serving the women and children who find refuge and healing through the ministry.

The director shared that she and Jewells had been praying specifically for a vehicle and believed God had already promised to provide one. The call from the Ocotillo team was the answer they had been waiting for.

Meet Michael Huerta.

Michael is the Service Manager that keeps all aspects of the shop running smoothly. He has been in the automotive business for 24 years with the past 6 years spent here at CBA Owasso.

His favorite hobby is working on cars. (I think that's both weird and appropriate at the same time.) Michael loves German Chocolate Cake and his favorite holiday is Christmas!

His favorite childhood memory is going to the mall with his Grandpa so they could ride the escalator and eat ice cream cones.

Michael's favorite customer interaction is when he had a customer show up in tears because their car was making a loud noise, they knew they didn't have money for anything, even for a diagnosis. We went out to give our opinion and found the oil cap had been left off by a family member who was trying to help. It made quite a mess in the engine bay but we found the cap and also discovered the engine was low on oil which caused the noise. After adding oil to the car the noise went away and the customer was overwhelmed with emotion that they could still get the family around safely as well as get to work. We told them we would help clean up the mess and covered the cost of the oil. It was heart-warming to see a simple solution to a customers problem so appreciated in their time of need.

Michael's favorite thing about his job is the relationships he builds with customers and colleagues...and he's able to measure success based on what the team accomplishes daily for the business and the community. When asked about his faith being a part of his job, he says "Faith is the whole reason I am here. My career journey involved the right doors opening at the right time, allowing me to follow the path God placed in front of me. This has been my foundation to encourage our team to live honestly, recommend repairs for the benefit of our guests and guide them through education for recommendations that best fit their needs."

Michae's favorite car he has owned is a 2011 BMW 335I M Sport....and his dream car is any BMW M3 or M5. ;)

Is there a food that he dislikes? Most Seafood (this is why we get along so great!)

When asked to tell us about his family, he says "I have an amazing wife of 18 years and 2 wonderful daughters. We are a big sports family so we spend most of our time either on a field or on a court. We also always choose to stay local because of our extended family so we try to have get-togethers as much as possible. Family is everything to us."

Come by and see Michael and you'll quickly understand why he is the heartbeat behind the exceptional culture and positive work environment that we enjoy everyday.

Christian Brothers Automotive Owasso is proud to introduce our newest team member, JIM REEVES.

Jim has been in the automotive services buiness for 42 years, with the past 25 years spent in Owasso.

Jim says that his faith plays a big role in what he does everyday, because "Without God, I am nothing." We've asked Jim about a few of his favorite things. His favorite hobby is going roping with his kids and grandchildren. His favorite dessert is Blackberry Cobbler (me, too!) His favorite childhood memories include many hunting trips with his brother. His favorite customer interaction?....when he met his wife Lori!

Jim's favorite car that he's owned was a 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang 289 V8.....and his dream car is a brand new Dodge Ram 3500 Laramie Big Horn 6.7 Cummins truck. We asked Jim if there's a food that he doesn't like and he says Salmon Patties. :)

When asked to tell us about his family...he says "we are simple and very country."
Jim's favorite thing about his job is that he enjoys working with people and he measures success by how well he works on the customer's problems.

Our guess is that many of you already know Jim, but we would love to invite you to stop by the shop and say Welcome and Hello to Jim and meet our whole crew. We'd love to show you around and show off after our recent remodel.
