There were approximately 150 participants at that first event. During the next 24 years the name of the event changed to the Ol’ Marais River Run and the attendance grew to 1,618 in 2010. has throughout those years focused on presenting a family oriented event that could be enjoyed by both young and old. Located in beautiful Forest Park in Ottawa, Kansas you will enjoy two days of fun and entertai
nment in one of the most premiere outdoor facilities in Northeastern Kansas; it would seem this park with a strong shade tree population and ample grass parking was tailor made for this event. Our event begins on Friday evening with registration and an open cruise at Forest Park. Thus, giving those who do not meet the 1972 cut-off the opportunity to be a part of the activities. Saturday is the show and shine portion followed by a 60’s profile cruise in the downtown business district, during the evening, allowing the throngs of spectators to actually see and hear the show vehicles in motion. Sunday returns to the park and a continuation of the show and shine. A church service is offered for those who wish to attend. The day is capped-off by the awards presentation and the announcement of the major door prize winners. The Ol’ Marais River Run has become a very well- known event and is considered by most past attendees as a “must do” for their show season schedule.
