Summer Sizzler results
As we didn't have a huge kart count we had a TON of talent through the field. After fighting with mother nature she decided to quit popping up over the OLBR. With quick time going to Tucker Long , his kart owner won a 12 of some Canadian sodas courtesy of Allen Bland at ALs handyman services and landscape. With an inversion of 3 for the heats, they were pretty racey. Low cautions made for a fast prelim with Tucker and Grant Kanfield winning the heats. Great job boys. Really sporty on slick tires. As everyone transfered to the A, it was still pretty stacked. A HUGE thanks to Great Lakes Speedway for their $100 bump to the winners purse making it $300 to win! Much appreciated. Under the newly installed lights and the HUGE backstretch wall, we had great action for all 36 laps! As the checkers fell, RIPPER (Tucker) would win again claiming his first SIZZLER and the $300 prize! Congratulations bud, well earned. In our infamous mechanics race (literally full of great drivers) we had all karts entered for a $50, 20 lap race. In a very sporty event Michigan's own RJ Cornett Jr. would take top honors in steves #602! Great job kid, definitely earned. We at the OLBR would like to thank everyone that had any part in making this happen, especially Stephanie Miller and Dave GumbyJr. Their continued hospitality is unmatched. (Ill get some grief for this) And a huge thanks to Erik Wolleson, Randy Fritch, Dakota Sparks, Nevaeh Robinson , and definitely Drew Smith for their efforts. Theres definitely others who's names escape me from concessions and elsewhere im forgetting. Thank you everyone for the awesome race and great times. Join us October 3rd for our fall chug/normal race/ fun races! Also pay attention to the page for a late October "tune up" as folks are looking to shake the dust off before the fall classic.
