Day 1 on my bike vs. 6 months later.
2021 has been a bit of a transition year. It had a rocky start. I was still recovering from back surgery and starting a new medication for my Leukemia, after the first one made no progress.
January and February was a rough, ot knowing how the medication was gonna go. I had blood drawn and my brother's tested for a possible Bone Marrow Transplant. With that looming over my head, I knew I had to drop out of , a bootcamp for coding, if anything the stress from dealing with my health issues would cause my studies to suffer.
In March it was shown that it was working and the next day, I went out and got my first bike. Thank you for that one.
April, May, and June, I took the time to get to know my bike. Adding new parts and focusing on becoming a better rider. Rode around Central Florida and got to see some new parts like Tampa and St. Augustine.
During the summer, I took some nice trips around the country. Connected with friends in Denver for 4th of July, flew to Chicago with my little brother in August, helped my Aunt move to Arkansas, and took my bike on my longest trip so far, Orlando to Boston to visit a friend in need.
While on I was checking out the museum in Chicago, I got my latest test results on my leukemia, a drop from 38% to 2.94%. I had to sit down for it and teared up a bit(people probably thought I was emotional about the dinosaurs).
That's when I decided to return to school back to and started back up in October. It has been going great so far, 2 months down, 4 months to go.
November, I was periodically sick. The first week, I had a really bad cold(it wasn't covid), which took a week to recover. The following week I had a sore throat. After recovering from that, I started to feel worse again the week of Thanksgiving. On Black Friday. I ended up with a fever and as a precaution, went to the ER, which they diagnosed that with the flu. Another week spent sick. That was a scary month.
Once I finally recovered(December), I started microdosing psilocybin(for neurogensis), a way to help learn, open up my creativity, and deal with my social anxiety. It has been a wild ride
