Rochester drivers, does your windshield need to be calibrated after replacement? 👀

On many newer vehicles, the answer is YES!

Modern windshields often have cameras that support safety features like lane departure warnings, forward collision alerts and automatic emergency braking.

When a windshield is replaced, these systems may require recalibration to function as designed.

Here’s Josh performing a static ADAS calibration using our advanced Autel technology. This equipment allows us to precisely position targets and calibrate the vehicle's camera system according to manufacturer requirements.

Why clean a brand new windshield before installing it? 👀

New glass still needs to be properly prepped before it ever touches the vehicle.

Our technicians clean and prepare the bonding area of the windshield to remove contaminants that could interfere with the installation process. A clean surface helps give the urethane the proper surface it needs to bond to.

It is one of those small steps Rochester drivers may never see, but skipping the prep is not an option.

New glass. Clean surface. Proper prep. Then it is ready to install.

There’s something satisfying about a clean cut. 👀

Removing the old urethane takes a steady hand and precision. The goal is to carefully prepare the surface so it is ready for the fresh urethane and new windshield.

No rushing. No unnecessary mess. Just another important step in a quality windshield replacement.

That small windshield crack doesn’t always stay small. 👀

Once a crack begins spreading across the glass like this, a simple repair may no longer be an option and windshield replacement may be necessary.

Minnesota drivers also deal with temperature changes, road vibration and rough roads that can put additional stress on already damaged glass.

The earlier you have a chip or crack looked at, the better chance you have of addressing it before it spreads.
Small chip? Get it checked early. Long spreading crack? It may be time for new glass.
