What is that black adhesive underneath your windshield?
It is called urethane, and it plays an important role in a windshield replacement.
Here, Josh is laying a fresh, consistent bead of urethane along the prepared frame before the new windshield is set into place. This adhesive creates the bond between the glass and the vehicle.
The height, consistency and placement of the bead all matter when creating a proper fit and seal.
It may look like Josh is simply laying down glue, but this is one of the most important steps in the entire windshield replacement process.
Just another part of the process most Rochester MN drivers never get to see. π
