One of the best pieces of advice I can give someone buying a home is this:
Give yourself permission to not know everything.
Buying a home is one of the biggest financial decisions most people will ever make, yet many feel like they’re supposed to understand every document, every term, and every step before they even begin.
So they stay quiet.
They nod through conversations they don’t fully understand.
Then closing day arrives, and they’re signing paperwork while hoping they’re making the right decisions.
It doesn’t have to be that way.
I believe a lender’s job isn’t just to get a loan approved. It’s to educate, explain, and make sure you understand what you’re signing and why it matters.
There are no “dumb” questions in this process. In fact, the people who ask the most questions are usually the ones who feel the most confident by closing day.
