Subject: Thank You for the Birthday Wishes (and Surviving Hurricane Milton!)

Hey everyone!

Wow, what a birthday it’s been already! First of all, a huge thank you for all the warm wishes. You really know how to make a person feel loved—even when the weather outside is a bit, shall we say, dramatic!

I fell asleep last night to the soothing sounds of heavy rain and howling winds, courtesy of Hurricane Milton. At 4:30 AM, it felt like I was in a live-action disaster movie with the freight train special effects rolling right over my house! I woke up to find the power out and my yard resembling a scene from a yard sale gone wrong. The only real casualty was my wooden fence, which decided to take an unexpected trip to the neighbor's yard. Sorry, neighbors!

Now, assuming the power returns (and Milton doesn’t decide to make a comeback), I’m planning on celebrating my birthday this Saturday with family and friends. I’ll be firing up my new Pit Boss cabinet-style smoker grill—yes, I finally upgraded from my trusty old charcoal grill! Get ready for a barbecue feast featuring smoked chicken, ribs, and sausage. Think of it as my way of saying thank you for the birthday wishes, and also as a way to distract you from the fact that I’m now 59 (but still feel like 29... until I step onto the pickleball court, that is).

So thanks again, everyone! Stay safe out there, and I can’t wait to celebrate with all of you soon!

Cheers and (hopefully) smoky goodness ahead!

Jim Reetz

Scott Jernigan from ADVANCED WORK VANS was kind enough to stop by & show this newly upfitted Ford Maverick. Now that Ford has discontinued the Transit Connect this is a very economical and viable alternative. Ballpark estimate on this upfit package: $8,500. Call me for more details. 407-314-7866.

Blast from the past 9 years ago:

A shout out to Baker Commercial Landscaping and Ted Baker for being a good loyal customer for the past 4 years. Looking forward to a continued partnership, especially when we move into our brand new Ford dealership facility just around the corner on Princeton St. (There will be a few more Canary Palm trees to trim, but I'm sure your crew can handle that!). We are always appreciative, but never satisfied.
All the Best! Jim Reetz

9 years later and I’m still delivering trucks to HD Supply. Today I will be delivering an F-350 4x4 crew can diesel with a 9 ft. gooseneck flatbed. Going to one of their 400 branches- Richland, MS. We have (50) F-550s chassis in the order bank now with Ford. I just need Ford to build them so we can continue to supply this mission-critical company with delivery trucks. I’m confident our CEO Jim Farley can get the job done. 🛻 👍🏼🛻

A Ford Truck Testimonial... From My Grandfather

The picture below, taken in 1945, is my Grandfather- Allan Reetz- standing beside his favorite truck of all time- a 1941 Ford. his business consisted of picking up cream from dairy farms and hauling it 120 miles away to the Remis Creamery in Central Michigan for the production of primarily butter. In 1941, after quickly wearing out a couple of Chevrolet trucks, he purchased this new 1941 Ford COE (Cab Over Engine) and built a wood truck body to his specs for maximum capacity with three doors each side & one wide door at the rear. The truck was equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission coupled to a manual shift 2-speed rear end and powered by a 100 HP Ford V-8 engine. The average payload for the trip to the creamery twice a week was 7 to 9 tons.

Little did my Grandpa know that World War II was about to break out ( December 7th, 1941) and his new Ford truck was going to have to last him nearly four years when he finally got priority from the Federal Government to purchase a new truck. The only problem then was the fact that the COE Dodge was the only thing available. Reluctantly, he bought the Dodge and after 18,000 miles- it blew an engine. With a couple of Mack trucks and White trucks in between, he happily went back to buying all Ford trucks which he used until his retirement from the business in the late Fifties.

As a young boy, I can remember him saying on his Winter trip to Florida- that had it not been for that '41 Ford- he would have had a difficult time holding the business together during those terrible WW II years.
His Very Proud
Grandson,
Jim Reetz
