After six years together, in the summer of 2011 we had a simple wedding in a barn filled with dirt, hay, family, friends and love. With the wedding money we received we purchased a 1967 AMC Rebel SST. A car that had been neglected for 15 years, cloaked in filth and cough drops was now the revelation of a dream. What does “made to last” truly mean? To me, it’s a blend of cherished memories and tactile sensations. Everyone I know has a connection to something automotive. A car their grandparents purchased, a nostalgic cruise with friends, or my personal favorite, a late-night race at the track.

Now, let’s incorporate the tactile aspect. The satisfying sensation of holding a leather steering wheel, the gentle catch of paper on your fingertips as you turn the pages of a well-worn book, or the clicks and tension of a camera’s dials and buttons held with anticipation, waiting to capture the moment. Hot Rod Magazine encapsulates all these elements, crafting a world brimming with captivating stories. Stories that share valuable learning experiences filled with thrilling adventures, all within your reach.

While internet access and a bright screen are convenient options in today’s digital age, I find immense joy in holding onto these physical items. I hold them with a sense of pride, knowing that my good friends and I have put in so much effort to create these time capsules that will be cherished by generations to come.

Yesterday’s Burnout Rivals and Late Model racing left me feeling incredibly optimistic. Everyone involved in this weekend’s event learned, grew, and improved. Although there were only a few winners, there was a stadium full of growth.

My beloved Colorado celebrated its 150th birthday this weekend, and I made sure to mark the occasion in the most memorable ways possible! My day began with a delightful visit to my favorite Starbucks (duh!), followed by an exhilarating hike through the breathtaking Colorado high country. I spent more than a few hours fishing, soaking in the stillness and colorful sunset. I tried new restaurants, savoring delicious food, soaking in the beauty and tranquility of this summer paradise.
