People still believe shiny leather means the leather is
“healthy” or “well moisturised”.

In reality, a lot of the time that shine is actually contamination.

Body oils.
Sweat.
Hair products.
Food residue.
General grime building up over time.

Modern automotive leather should usually have a soft natural sheen…
not a greasy reflective finish.

The problem is many people keep adding creams and conditioners on top of contamination instead of properly cleaning the surface first.

That’s when problems start building:
• clogged surfaces
• premature wear
• dye transfer
• cracking
• loss of finish

Sometimes the leather isn’t dry at all…
