KNOW THE DIFFERENCE: As school starts in most Wisconsin districts this week, you’ll start to see more school buses on the roads again. Here’s a reminder of what the different colored lights on a school bus indicate and what you should do if they’re flashing:

🟠Amber Warning Lights: The school bus is about to stop. Slow down and prepare to stop.

🔴Red Warning Lights: Stop at least 20 feet from the bus whether approaching from either direction. The only exception is if you are traveling on the other side of a divided road that’s separated by a median or other physical barrier.

DMV GRANT PROGRAM
Please share this post from the Wisconsin DMV.

We are pleased to announce that the next quarterly launch of the Driver Education Grant will be on July 13th, 2026.

Oregon Area Driving School DOES honor the Driver Education Grant, as well as other driving schools in the area.

You do not need to attend the Oregon Area Driving School to apply for the grant program.

The Wisconsin DMV is dedicated to ongoing driver education focused on knowledge and skills. Our Driver Education Grant Program is another step to ensure driver education and safe driving are available.

Students, parents, and all those who may be interested in a notification closer to the time of the launch can sign up with their email at the DMV website.

The grant program is not to be used as a refund program. If the student/parent has made partial payments, a refund will not be issued in place of payment from the grant. Grants will also not be issued to cover remaining balances. If a student paid for classroom but not behind the wheel, they may use the behind-the-wheel coupon only.
