Family members of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, joined by LULAC, LULAC Council 60, civil organizations, and elected officials, demanded a full and independent investigation into the ICE operation in Houston where Salgado lost his life.
According to his family, Salgado had lived in the United States for 35 years, worked in construction, had no criminal record, and was the primary breadwinner for his family. They also called for the release of all video footage of the incident and a review of the use of lethal force.
During the press conference, a $5,000 reward was announced for information leading to arrests related to the case, alongside a public petition and a seminar on immigrant rights. Visit LULAC.org for more information.
