Many people want to know how long they can run their RV furnace on a tank of propane. A typical 40,000btu RV furnace will run for 16 hours on a 30 # tank. That is continuous operation. Typically the furnace will cycle on and off unless the temps are very low.
This is the math:
21, 591 BTUs per pound of propane
21,591 X 30 # = 647,730 BTUs per tank
647,730 / 40,000 = 16 hours

Replaced a Girard tankless water heater in an Airstream RV this morning. I can't say enough good things about how Airstream built this RV. Everything was easy to access.
This is the first time to work on an Airstream and I am glad to have the opportunity.
