Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of Captain Jonathan Dunbar.

Jonathan dedicated 14 years of his life to serving and protecting others with Iberia Parish Fire District 1. He was a husband, a father, a firefighter, and a man who meant so much to so many.

This loss hits close to home. Jonathan and his wife, Jennifer, were not only part of the community we serve but they were also our customers. We are grateful that our paths crossed with Jonathan and his family.

Our hearts especially go out to Jennifer and their four beautiful children, Lola, Lennox, Linus, and Luci. We cannot imagine the weight of this loss, and we pray they feel the love and support of the entire community surrounding them in the days ahead.

Jonathan, thank you for the years you spent answering the call, for the lives you touched, and for your service to your community.

From our family and everyone at Stewart’s Auto Repair, we extend our deepest condolences to the Dunbar family, his brothers and sisters in the fire service, and everyone who knew and loved him.

Please keep Jennifer, Lola, Lennox, Linus, and Luci in your prayers. 🖤

We got our first billboard today 👏

It started as a little boy’s dream. ❤️

A dream to one day have his own shop. To work on vehicles, use his hands, and build something he could call his own.

But somewhere along the way, that dream became our dream.

And then there is our three girls… and they became our why.

They’re the reason we keep pushing on the hard days. The reason we took the chance, opened the doors, and continue working every day to build something we hope they’ll always be proud of.

But our “why” doesn’t stop with them.

We do this for Opelousas as well.

We do it for the moms trying to get their babies to school. The dads heading to work. The grandparents picking up their grandkids. The sisters, brothers, friends, neighbors, and every person who depends on their vehicle to take care of the people they love.

Because to us, you’re not just another vehicle pulling into a repair shop. You’re part of the community we’re raising our daughters in.

We started with a little boy’s dream.

We built it with our daughters as our motivation.

And we continue it for our family and yours.

That’s our why.
That’s our community.
