Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Birmingham, AL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of heavy-duty diesel trucks, ensuring they are in optimal working condition. The qualified mechanic will exclusively operate from a service truck, handling the maintenance and repair of a fleet of refuse trucks.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty diesel trucks.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical systems.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues efficiently.
- Hydraulic diagnostics and repair.
- Air Brake diagnostics and repair.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license; CDL preferred. (Clean driving record)
- High school diploma or equivalent.
