Finished up this FK8 with the recipe that keeps these guys alive and changes the FK8 driving experience. If you’re making more power in your FK8, the RV6 fourth gear is a great solution. Combine that with an L*D and you’ve got an awesome setup thats not out of reach for most track enthusiasts. Sure we’d all love a dog box and all the sounds that go with it. But, let’s face it. It’s not legal for most sanctioning bodies/classes and it’s also not the best idea for those who still daily drive their FK8. Gotta think smarter…not harder 😉

Like they say…. There’s levels to this and they weren’t lying! Here’s an inside look at the gearbox that puts the Kseries turbo power to the wheels. It’s simple in some ways yet wild and creative in others but, it all comes together and has helped Amir’s program tremendously. We have some more ideas for the future.. stay tuned!

Believe it or not.. how the outside looks says a lot about the care placed on what’s inside. Rushed work is always obvious when things are missing, bolts are filthy, rusted and corroded etc. Patience and attention to detail is key 👍 Here is a mint 05-06 RSX-S that came in for a full rebuild and L*D. We decided on the Wavetrac L*D as they are a great quality unit along with a longer 6th gear set for highway cruising. It’s now back in the car that is just as mint! Wish I had taken some photos of the car. You’ll see it soon enough out in the track 😉

Since I’ve noticed people, yes even builders(scary I know😱) don’t get this right. I made up a quick chart to help you guys understand. This is how to identify tooth cut profiles. Oem will in most cases be pretty quiet during rotation. Semi helical will have a slight to moderate whine while straight cut will almost always make some nice beautiful sounds. I will do another soon that explains the difference between synchro engagement and dog engagement gears as that’s a popular subject. Stay tuned!

Have another FK8 in the works with some awesome upgrades! This one received 4th gears along with an L*D unit. This will give some added durability and a lot better traction while pushing for those extra seconds. True game changers!
