August fills up fast. If your car has anything on the list below, book it now before the fall rush hits:
Brakes — If they've been making noise all summer, winter rain will make it worse. Coolant flush — Coolant degrades over time. Old coolant gets corrosive. Not something you want to find out on a cold morning. Battery — Heat kills batteries slowly. Cold exposes them. Get it tested before the weather changes. Oil service — If you're due or almost due, handle it in August. Walk-in availability won't be the same in September

We hear this a lot. Usually from people who've been told by the dealer that only the dealer can work on their car. Here's the truth: independent shops that specialize in European vehicles use the same diagnostic software, the same OEM-spec parts, and in many cases employ technicians who trained at the dealer before going independent. The difference is you don't pay for the waiting room coffee or the loaner car program markup.

Every month has its patterns. Here's what we're seeing in the bays right now: AC systems — Warm air, weak airflow, or compressors that cycle on and off. Summer hit and everyone noticed at once. Pre road trip inspections — Smart move before a long drive. We check the things that fail on the highway, not in the driveway. Deferred maintenance — That thing you meant to do in spring. Burning rubber. Hot oil. Something sweet that shouldn't be sweet. A smell that comes and goes at highway speed.
Smells are your car trying to tell you something. And on European cars, the conversation usually goes better the earlier you have it.

Burning oil = oil leak near hot engine components.
Sweet smell = coolant. Could be a slow leak you haven't found yet.
Burning rubber = could be a belt, a brake dragging, or something worse.
