Customer bought this truck at auction and brought it in with a bad rod knock. After digging into it we found the previous owners had left a rod cap off and filled the cooling system with straight water instead of coolant, which completely wiped out the engine.

We’ve got the engine pulled and ready for the new one to go in. We’ll have this truck back on the road soon.

Western Star in last week for a hard start and surging at idle.
After diagnostics, we found a faulty quantity control valve.

During our free inspection, we also identified a PTO leak and brake issues on both drive axles.

All repairs completed and this truck is now road-ready.
