There are politicians, and then there are public servants. Richard White State Representative is a public servant.

Over the last several years, I have had the opportunity to work alongside Richard on issues that matter to working men and women, especially those of us in the towing and recovery industry. When Troy’s Law was introduced to help protect tow operators working dangerous roadsides every day, Richard didn’t just listen—he stepped up. He took phone calls, answered questions, worked through concerns, and fought to move the conversation forward because he understood what was at stake: protecting the lives of Kentucky’s blue-collar workers.

What many people never see are the countless hours Richard spends behind the scenes. The meetings, the phone calls, the research, the travel, and the effort required to represent the people of his district. Public service isn’t a 9-to-5 job, and Richard proves that every day. While others are talking, he’s working.

Richard understands the value of hard work because he’s one of us. He understands small business owners, truck drivers, farmers, first responders, tow operators, and the men and women who get up before daylight and come home after dark trying to provide for their families. He hasn’t forgotten where he came from, and he hasn’t forgotten who sent him to Frankfort.

I’ve watched him stand up for blue-collar Kentuckians when it wasn’t easy. I’ve watched him listen when others wouldn’t. Most importantly, I’ve watched him fight for people who simply wanted their voices heard.

Whether you agree with him on every issue or not, one thing cannot be questioned: Richard White genuinely cares about the people he serves and works tirelessly on their behalf.

As someone who has worked directly with him, I can say without hesitation that Kentucky needs more leaders who are willing to put in the work, answer the phone, and stand beside the people they represent.

I am proud to call Richard White a friend, and I am proud to support him for State Representative.

Let’s keep a proven conservative, a hard worker, and a true advocate for blue-collar Kentucky fighting for us in Frankfort.

Vote Richard White for State Representative.

Reading stories like this should remind everyone just how dangerous the side of the highway truly is for tow truck operators, first responders, and stranded motorists. Every single step taken toward improving roadside safety matters — whether it’s stronger Move Over laws, better lighting, more awareness, or added protections for workers standing inches from traffic every day.

What stands out to me is how quickly attention comes when large organizations and big names get behind an issue. But for many of us in the towing industry, we didn’t need statistics to know the danger — we’ve lived it, witnessed it, and buried our own because of it.

That’s exactly why Troy’s Law matters.

Troy Caldwell’s life mattered just as much as anyone represented by a national campaign or corporation. His family’s pain is no different. And the men and women working Kentucky roads every day deserve every layer of protection possible before another family gets that phone call.

This has never been about lights, politics, or recognition. It’s about giving roadside workers a better chance to make it home at the end of the day.

I applaud any state taking steps forward on roadside safety. I just hope Kentucky continues pushing forward too — because awareness shouldn’t only happen when big money or national attention gets involved. Sometimes the loudest truth comes from the people actually standing on the shoulder doing the work.

CHARLOTTE, NC., (May 20, 2026) – AAA – The Auto Club Group applauds South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster for signing House Bill 4249, which strengthens the state's Move Over law. Now, motorists must slow down and move over for all disabled vehicles on the roadside with their flashers on. A...

Happy Heavenly 56th Birthday to Troy Caldwell. ❤️⛓️🪝

Reading your daughter’s words today reminds us all just how deeply you are loved and missed every single day. I pray Heaven is everything she described and more… the biggest rollback around, a cold Diet Pepsi in your hand, a pocket full of chew, Hot Wheels everywhere, cheeseburgers cooked just right, and you cruising the streets of Heaven in one of the prettiest S10s or Camaros ever built. Most of all, I hope your laughter is still as loud as ever and echoing through Heaven the same way it echoed through all of our lives here on earth.

While the pain of losing you is still very real down here, one thing is certain… you are not forgotten and neither is the mission that began because of you.

We are still fighting daily for Troy’s Law. We have not given up, we will not give up, and we will continue pushing for the protection our roadside workers deserve. Your name and your story continue to move people across Kentucky, and we believe this fight will make a difference.

Happy Birthday Troy. Until we meet again brother. 💙

People love to throw your past up when they’re trying to discredit you like it’s supposed to break you. But let me save you the trouble…
I lived it.
I cried through it.
I survived it.
And by the grace of God, I healed from it.

Every sleepless night.
Every mistake.
Every betrayal.
Every lesson that hurt before it helped.

I’ve walked through valleys so dark I didn’t know if I’d ever see light again but God never left me there.

So if you came to use my past against me, understand this:

I’ll tell my story myself… start to finish… with no shame in my voice.

Because what you call a scandal, God turned into a testimony.

What tried to destroy me, built me.
What was meant to shame me, strengthened me.
What should have buried me, became the proof that God’s hand was on my life the whole time.

I made peace with every dark corner.
I learned from every hard lesson.
And I stand today not perfect but redeemed.

I am not ashamed of where I’ve been, because I know exactly Who brought me out of it.

The same God who carried me then is the same God leading me now.

So no, my past doesn’t weaken me…
it reminds me just how faithful God has been.

Sometimes the greatest proof of God’s power is the person you never thought would make it.

This isn’t a scandal.
This is survival.
This is grace.
This is God.

And if you’re still watching my story unfold… just know, He’s not finished with me yet. 🙏🔥

As the Senate closed out its business on April 15, we are left aggravated, heartbroken, and deeply disappointed. After a full year of hard work to push Troy’s Law forward, after seeing it gain support and after getting it through the House, we still cannot understand why the Senate chose not to truly take it up, put it in committee, or move it forward in any meaningful way.

That is what hurts the most.

This was not a bill asking for millions of dollars. It was not a bill requiring new funding. It was a common-sense piece of legislation that could have helped protect the blue-collar men and women of Kentucky’s towing industry while they work dangerous roads every single day.

And yet, when the time came to act, the Senate fell silent.

Let me be clear: this is not about tearing down any other bill that moved forward. There were many important bills this session. But when a bill that costs taxpayers nothing, asks for no funding, and has the potential to help save lives is left sitting without action, it forces you to ask a hard question:

How much does the towing industry really matter to the people in Frankfort?

Campaign season is always full of talk about supporting blue-collar workers. Full of promises. Full of praise for the hardworking men and women who keep this state moving. But when the towing industry needed lawmakers to stand up, speak up, and show up, too many stayed quiet.

So where do we go from here?

Do we quit? No.
Do we stay silent? No.
Do we keep pushing? Absolutely.

Because this fight is bigger than one session. Bigger than one disappointment. Bigger than one door being closed in our face.

We owe it to every tow operator who puts their life on the line on the side of Kentucky highways. We owe it to every family that worries when their loved one heads out on a call. And we owe it to Troy’s memory to keep going.

We may be discouraged today, but we are not done.

Troy’s Law matters. The towing industry matters. And we will continue to push until the people in Frankfort are finally forced to recognize that.
