As we are about to celebrate our country this weekend it made me think about the history of Old Hickory Garage. It was originally built in 1928 as a Chevrolet dealership. During World War II it became difficult to find cars for the dealership to sell so it became an independent repair shop. It was operated by at least two different owners prior to 1965. My father bought it in 1965 and it has been family owned and operated since then. Here is a picture from the previous owner. My dad bought the shop on a handshake agreement and was open for business the next day. We still have the same phone number.
