This truck started acting sluggish at takeoff and very quickly became inoperable. After confirming it was a mechanical failure and not an electronic failure, I determined that 2nd gear had gone out. There was no more adjustment left for the band so it needed to be replaced. After getting the transmission pan, valve body, and old band removed, a new band was slipped in and the parts reinstalled. If you’re having this same issue in a 48RE, 47RE, 46RE, or a 727, I’d be happy to fix it.

Truck was leaking coolant severely from the rear of the engine. After checking for the source of the leak, checking the oil, and pulling codes. I found that there was a blown hose connected to the EGR cooler underneath the intake manifold. Replaced the hose and reinstalled the intake. The truck is now no longer leaking and ready to head on down the road.
