My personal daily driver got some love on Friday. The clutch has been slipping for a few months, and recently it’s gotten pretty bad to where I was afraid to drive it out of town for fear of getting stranded.

We installed a new flywheel and clutch, new throw out bearing, and it also got some new CV axles, transmission oil, engine oil change with BG MOA, and a couple new TPMS sensors. It’s got right at 172,000 miles, and with the maintenance and care we give, it should take me well past 300,000 without much trouble.

That’s a BIG sign! Shouldn’t be hard to spot our shop from the road now!!

We spent a lot of time working this past weened getting our new guest entrance ready.

Now if you have a shorter service, or are waiting for a ride, we have a comfortable area out of the heat for you to hang out.

It also streamlines our checkout experience, as you no longer have to walk through the shop to get to the back office.

Soon, we will have coffee, cold beverages, and snacks stocked for our guests, as well. Thank you all for your continued support while we try to be the best independent auto repair shop in town!

Blessed to be busy!

One of the jobs we wrapped up this past week was some extensive work on this Toyota RAV4. The timing cover and camshaft carriers were leaking oil pretty badly, enough to leave a 4” stain after sitting overnight; and the suspension needed to be gone through.

We completely re-sealed the engine (out of the vehicle) from cam carriers to oil pan. This engine has 219,500 miles on it, and looks great inside, due to regular maintenance and continued use of BG products, namely, MOA with every oil change. These Toyota 3.5L V6 engines are renowned for their reliability, so a repair like this still makes sense on this well-maintained vehicle, as it has a LOT of life left in it.

The owner opted to have some fun with the suspension and had us install a Northwoods lift kit. In addition, we upgraded the brakes with a set of Power Stop drilled/slotted rotors and pads. 😎 We think it looks great, and it drives even better! You cannot tell the mileage by driving it. This RAV is tight as a drum and runs great!

This Oklahoma summer heat and humidity will beat you down fast inside a metal building… and a worn out, overheated technician is not happy or productive, and that is not who we want servicing your vehicle!

At BrighTech, we use and trust BG products. This GMC Sierra had an internal bearing failure, so it received a used engine. We performed a BG EPR (Engine Performance Restoration oil treatment), MOA (Motor Oil Additive), and 44k fuel system treatment with a full tank of ethanol-free gas to give this used engine the best start on its new life.

If you’ve been by the shop recently, you may have seen Daisy. She’s our sometimes shop-dog. She lets me know when she wants to go to work. Usually 2-3 times a week she comes with. She is an expert door greeter, and general morale booster around the shop. If you see her, say hi, and give her some head scratches, and you’ll have a new best friend!!!

When the dealership couldn’t address the owner’s concern on this 2022 BMW 430i, the owner brought it to us, confident that we would find the root of the problem.

In this case, a failed engine mount was causing a heavy vibration at idle, and a noise on startup.

It’s not always scanners, data, and science. Sometimes it’s a matter of careful observation and not being dismissive of the primary concerns of the vehicle owner.

The divider wall has come down! We still have some work to do to completely open it up, but this was a big step!
