This customer was smart and lucky, he had a piece of bearing cage on his drain plug magnet and immediately brought it in. Caught this before catastrophic failure and wiping out more parts.

I fully rebuilt the trans with Japanese bearings and of course Maxima Racing Oils oil 😈

I’ve had this car for a minute, but let me explain……….

Oh the joys of working on 25+ year old machines. This came in for a “tune” and quickly turned into much more. Did a couple baseline runs and immediately the clutch came apart. In addition it had wastegate and other plumbing issues, cooking plug wires and more.

After parts delays and finding time to squeeze it in I’m happy to report it’s a runner. Put down a solid 250 wheel horsepower and has more in it. Should be a great duner.

Came in at 85 wheel horses and we tripled that. 😈

Some more behind the scenes shop footage. The Maverick X3 radius rods are notoriously weak and you can see just how thin walled they are in this video.
