This ‘40 Ford panel is getting a heart transplant. Rebuilt ‘53 merc engine, T5 5 speed transmission. The speedway adapter kit will make this a bolt in swap, retaining the factory clutch pedal assembly. We just mounted up new Coker whitewall radials, ran new brake lines and fuel lines, and we’ll be working on wiring after the engine is dropped in. We’re halfway through putting all new glass windows in.
The merc engine was in a driving shoebox, but we decided to pull it and dress it for this panel truck build. The truck will be getting a 12v conversion, so the dizzy got a pertronix unit and MSD coil. The new headers will help exhaust flow much better than the factory crossover exhaust system originally on the engine. Rebuilt the generator for the 12v system. New fuel pump. Rebuilt 94 carb.
This rig will be available soon! Stay posted!
