With the current high gas prices, you may be wondering: Windows open or AC on — which is better for fuel efficiency?

Every car has a speed at which rolled-down windows cause so much drag that it decreases fuel economy more than having the AC on, but that speed varies by vehicle type. So, the best rule of thumb if you're trying to save gas is to keep the windows down while driving in the city, but turn the air on when you hit the highway!

Do you hear a hum coming from your wheels that gets louder when you turn in one specific direction? This may be a sign of a bad wheel bearing! But there are many other signs to watch for like:

Squealing or growling as you increase your speed
A clicking sound while accelerating
Uneven tire wear
The vehicle pulling to one side

While wheel bearings are “technically” designed to last the life of the vehicle, they can be damaged by potholes or speed bumps. And leaving a damaged wheel bearing unchecked can be a dangerous mistake! If you ever hear any type of “weird” or “unusual” noises coming from your vehicle, give us a call!
