Yesterday we talked about key fob batteries, so here is the reminder: if your vehicle uses a fob or push-button start, small things can still stop your day cold.

A weak fob battery may not seem like much, but if your vehicle is slow to respond, will not unlock like usual, or keeps acting like it cannot find the key, do not ignore it too long.

August already gives us enough heat and humidity. No need to add a stubborn key fob to the list.

If your vehicle is giving you little signs that something is off, let us help you stay ahead of it.

It's time for Maintenance Monday!

With August heat still hanging around, here’s one for anyone driving a vehicle with a key fob or push-button start: do not forget about that little battery.

If your vehicle is taking extra tries to unlock, the push-button start is acting picky, or you keep seeing “key not detected,” the battery inside your fob may be getting weak.

It is a small thing, but it can turn into a big headache at the worst time, especially when you are already dealing with heat, errands, school traffic, and busy mornings.

Old-school key drivers, you can have Maintenance Monday off. Everybody else, it may be worth paying attention before the fob decides to be stubborn in a parking lot.

Sunday Wisdom time.

“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”
Ephesians 4:32

Forgiveness is not always easy, especially when someone has truly done us wrong.

But Scripture reminds us that we forgive because we have also needed forgiveness. None of us has walked perfectly. We have all fallen short, made mistakes, said the wrong thing, acted from pride, or needed grace we did not earn.

Being forgiven should soften our hearts toward forgiving others.

That does not mean pretending the hurt did not happen. It means refusing to let bitterness take root and trusting God with what we cannot fix on our own.

Saturday night race day from Richmond.

Tonight the NASCAR Cup Series is running the Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway. The race is scheduled for 6 PM on USA Network.

Richmond under the lights always has that short-track feel: tight racing, patience, bumpers close together, and drivers trying to make every lap count as the playoff picture gets tighter.

Saints football is back.

Today the New Orleans Saints open preseason against the Jacksonville Jaguars at the Caesars Superdome. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 PM on ABC.

It may only be preseason, but this is where the work starts. Rookies, backups, and players fighting for roster spots all get a chance to show what they can do.

The games may not count in the standings yet, but they definitely matter to the players trying to make this team.

The Ocean Springs Fresh Market is open today at the L&N Depot Plaza from 9 AM until it gets too hot, because August on the Gulf Coast does not exactly whisper.

It is a great way to support local vendors, pick up something fresh, and enjoy a little community time before the day heats up too much.
