Had a knocking engine that quit knocking. Bent piston rod from hydrolock caused piston skirt to hit the crankshaft counter weight until it clearanced itself.

Several lights on the dash and no communication. Tracked down to a short to ground on the can bus - L. After unplugging a dozen modules, many behind the dash, some under ther hood it was the steering angle sensor module. It usually ends up being the last module on the circuit that you check or a broken wire somewhere hidden.
