How we treat the strakes on pretty much any hull that has them. For whatever reason, boats love to split here, and this ensures maximum strength, in what appears to be one of the weakest parts of the hull

After doing a lot of transoms over time, one thing I’ve learned, is layering at least 1 layer of structural glass (plus primary csm) over the full shape of the outside greatly improves the strength of the job as well as seals in all the past repairs and “ghost” holes

The days of saving a buck by making non-marine products work for marine applications is OVER. Literally costs more in time and money to “make it work” than it does to just buy what you needed in the first place

Using wood isn’t improper by any means, but pressure treated wood is a big mistake I see a lot of. Mostly seen with DIY repairs/builds

Some of you may have seen my story or follow me personally, but our team has acquired one of the original mold sets for one of the “classic 25” Seavee/contender/ww (insert the other 8 brands who shared it) mold. Me and the last owner are a little unclear who actually had these last in production but it’s believed to be Blackfin (before they went under and got rebranded). If anyone knows would love to hear! We have a lot of work ahead of us but with the demand for these timeless designs, I think it will be worth it.

Harbor Freight so nice of you to kill the most practical thing you offered: the 1 year warranty. It’s not like all of us AVID consumers havnt already noticed the continual slight price increases along with poorer tool quality, and now THIS (with an increased price too of course). Yall are going to be just another big box retail failure study soon enough. You’re killing the only advantage your store had amongst the competitors. After I finish the warrenty cycles on the rest of all my tools, we’re switching to Milwaukee Tool 🇺🇸
