Little walk through of our latest 21 custom Contender build. We’ve gained a small cult following for these custom builds specifically using a 21 Contender. The first version built was actually designed by the client, and through the following, more and more people requested the same thing. But this version is MY design, after building a few of them the other way. Another custom rebuilt 21 Contender “On Point Style” this one a little different than the last versions. Instead of making the cut out in the forward liner, we deleted the forward liner altogether. In that same move, we created side columns to cover the liner transition. They also double to reroute the fuel fill line to the side versus having it alll the way in the back. Everything else is the same as the others: mini contender console, Stoner livewell leaner, in deck well delete/bilge hatch added, foam removed/storage created and reinstallation of the fish box liner. Finished off in Awlgrip Matterhorn white all around while still sporting the original factory gelcoat on the bottom.

Not often we see a Contender with a bad transom. This makes number 3 for us, but I get this question ALOT. People concerned about a stress mark around this area thinking the worst. But unless you have something that looks like this, that flexes as you push on the motors, your transom still has life! It’s also cool to see just how strong Contenders (and fiberglass in general) is while still being able to hold 600hp motors and ride out with really nothing more than some gnarly above waterline cracks!!
